Personnel

The research team consists of nationally and internationally recognized scientists with expertise in metabolomics, clinical biochemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, machine learning, NMR, and mass spectrometry.

All members have a strong life science background and all have a focus and reputation for successful technology development.

Project Management

Ann O'Neill (Platform Manager) joins the University of Alberta's Metabolomics Platform with over 10 years experience in academic research. She has worked as a Project Coordinator for the past 4 years both with the University of Alberta and more recently with Capital Health. She received her BA with First Class Honors in Anthropology from the University of Alberta in 1996 and her MA in Anthropology from the University of Alberta in 2000.

This project is supported by Genome Alberta and Genome Canada, a private, non-profit corporation whose mandate is to develop and implement a national strategy in genomics and proteomics research for the benefit of all Canadians. For this purpose, it has received $600 million in funding from the Canadian government.
